Mosquito Defense

Emily’s story is not unlike many of the women that find acceptance at the place of hope named after her. Given up at birth, Emily was “homeless and unwanted”, like so many of the women and children we serve. She was however, through the love of Mark Hagan’s Aunt and Uncle, provided everything she needed to become the best woman she could possibly be, and this is exactly what Emily’s Place provides for their families
Unfortunately her life was tragically cut short. By naming the work we do in memory of her life and all the good that she did, it provided a chance to speak about our loss as a family in a more positive light. There are many ways to get involved at Emily’s Place. Consider donating or volunteering and help others, like Emily, find hope and love.

Emily’s Place provides long-term transformational care that is critical for helping domestic violence survivors permanently escape abuse. It is the “bridge” from a shelter, which typically allows women a safe place for 30 to 90 days, to independent living, free of the barriers preventing them from achieving self-sufficiency away from their abusers.
