Yes. We will always do a full technical audit first, to make sure the site is ready for the tools we need to add for the Care Plan – and to make sure it can be brought up to the latest versions of all software without breaking anything. If something breaks, we’ll need to discuss how to move forward, but we can always figure something out.
Several reasons. Most hosts that back up a site will only keep 1 days worth of backup files. They also usually keep the backup on the same server as the website – which doesn’t make much sense now, does it? Our Care Plans include off-site backups and we keep 90 days worth of backup files.
Automatic software updates can be a disaster. There are often cases when a new WordPress update is not compatible with a plugin, or the verison of PHP or MySQL that you’re server is running. Then what? A properly run Care Plan will do managed software updates, which allows us to immediately roll back if something goes wrong and virtually elimintate downtime.
We think so, yes. Our Website Care Plans are a combination of services that cover software updates, website backups, protection from common vulnerabilities such as malware and Brute Force attacks. The website content updates are the icing on the cake. And frankly, you should be changing your website more often than that. So let’s talk about a plan for adding content every month or so to keep things fresh and relevant and on Google’s radar.
Our Care Plan clients have access to our Support Desk, which is the first point of contact for any issue or request. You’ll get an automated email just so you know we received your message, followed very quickly by a human response letting you know your request is being handled. Our team turns around all issues and requests very quickly.
We can walk through that with you. Before you can sign up for one of our Care Plans we need to have a brief conversation about your site. Whether we built your site or not, we will have a look at the site and discuss how you use the site before we can steer you to the right plan. For many of our clients the Basic Care Plan is fine. For others they need more update time, or more frequent backups.
We charge an eCommerce surcharge because all eCommerce sites come with some complications. They always have more plugins, and even the slightest downtime is a huge, huge problem and can have a direct impact on revenue, very quickly. These sites also tend to take up more space with backups, and there is more software to keep up to date. The surcharge amount is $200 minimum but may be more depending on the size of the site.
We can tailor a special plan for you to include SEO, Content, or more update time. Our Basic Plan is the lowest level plan available, but if you need more than our standard plans offer, we can discuss that during our initial call.
